Winning Attitude Changes Everything.

Every single person can create a a win-win attitude when engaging with others. Attitude is the thing that separates the “positive” people from the the rest of the world.

Here are some great tips on how to achieve a winning attitude :)

1. Make A Checklist Of All The Things You Complain About

Go buy a notebook from Walmart, and keep a “whiny journal” as I like to call it. This “whiny journal” will be there for you to write down every single time you complain about something. No matter what the complaint is, how big or small, write it down. Then, after 15 days, go back and review every time you complained. This will allow you to see yourself “from another perspective” Once you do this, categorize the complaints from “petty”, “sort-of called for” and “a major complaint” See how many fall in the “petty” category. This is where you really can tell how “negative” you are. Now, for the next 15 days, when you get the urge to complain, think of something nice to say and write it down in another section of your notebook. This sounds difficult but its not. IF you can’t think of something nice to say, think of a way to solve your “problem”. AT the end of the month, compare the two and start to constantly try to find a way to solve the challenges life throws at you.

2. Surround Yourself With POSITIVE People.

How in the world do you expect to have a “winning” attitude when all the people you surround yourself people with attitude problems.  It’s much easier to change your attitude when you are surrounded by people with positive attitudes.  This is KEY to overcoming your attitude problem. You might think, “We’ll I live with this ‘negative’ person, or “when Mary moves away, then I’ll be a better person cause I don’t wanna be mean to her” WAKE UP! You must realize that there are people in this world that you can not waste your time/energy on. You want the best for them, but they have to make the decision themselves to become a better person. I can encourage all day long, but if I’m talking to someone who has no motivation to become a better, then it is POINTLESS. You don’t need to spend your energy on these people. Simply hope the best for them and move on to people who want help.

3. Stop complaining about EVERYTHING.

People who do this irritate me to no end. There’s already enough negative in the world, why do you wanna waste your ENERGY and put your FOCUS on something that you can not change. (which 99% of the time we get “MAD” about something, it is out of our control). Stop wasting your precious energy on this and start to look for a solution to the challenge you’ve been presented with.

I have had a recent discovery that most of what happens to you is mostly mental. No matter what situation you might be in, you can always change one thing…..your attitude. Attitude plays such an important role in everything that you do. The person in the best situation with a poor attitude is worse off than the person is the worse situation with a great attitude.

I know there are things that are beyond some people’s control; however, do you think you are the ONLY person that has dealt with that certain situation? “Well, Ryan, you just don’t know my situation. It’s special and different and you just wouldn’t understand.” If you are one of the people who immediately though this, then you probably are one of those people I’m referring to about having a poor attitude.

If you want a great example of attitude, read the story of Jesus Christ, or Victor Frankl. Both of these individuals endured much more than ANY of us could imagine. But you know what kept them, their positive attitude. The one thing you have to realize is that you can not change people. You can try, and try, and try, but YOU can not change a person.

The ONLY thing you have control over is your attitude. So, why not have a positive impact on the one thing you can control. I believe that if you start to change your attitude, things in your life will begin to change. Begin to focus on what you have, and do not worry about things you can not change. No matter what you think, EVERYONE has a struggles in their life.

Why are people making millions a year so miserable? Because they forgot what actually mattered in life. Money CANNOT buy happiness and is not the cure for all of your problems. You must look at what you value in life, and make a decision to ALWAYS pursue these things. For most, it is family, a sense of belonging, friends, God, etc…

Bottom line, A Winning Attitude Is Everything
