How To Build Self Confidence!
Today I’m gong to talk about an issue that some of you out there struggle with. How to build self confidence. You must BELIEVE in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect anyone else to do the same?
What is self confidence? Self confidence according to Webster.com is the confidence in oneself and in one’s powers and abilities. Read that one more time aloud. Let the definition sink in. It’s the CONFIDENCE in yourself.
Self confidence is often times confused with “cocky”. I can NOT stand “cocky” people but self confident people I have much respect for. They realize that they have something they can offer the world, yet they are opening to learning and they respond with enthusiasm in most situations.
Self confident people realize their dreams and ambitions and GO after them. They do not wait around for someone to make a decision. Instead, they make the decision themselves and if they mess up, well they admit they messed up. They are not embarrassed by the fact they messed up, they simply look at the situation as a learning experience.
I encourage ANY of you out there who say “Well I dunno if I can do this, etc…” As my friend Eric Goldstein says, “Whether you think you can or can”t, you’re RIGHT”
I want to encourage you today to build YOUR self confidence. It’s not an “overnight quick fix” because it does take time and effort to acquire true self-confidence.
Here are a few tips for increasing your self confidence:
Meet 3 to 4 new people a week (preferably of the opposite sex). You don’t have to go out with them, but just go up to them and get their number. Who cares if you get turned down, it’s not like you’re going to see them ever again. Breaking this fear alone with increase your self confidence by 100%.
Exercise your muscles. You don’t have to be a superman or a superwoman to go to the gym. Just GO and workout for 3o minutes. Exercising makes you feel good about yourself regardless of your physical condition.
Hang around people who have self confidence. These people are usually funny and just DRAW people towards them. Have you ever noticed people in your life that have FUN no matter what they are doing? They can have fun ALL by themselves without anyone there at all. How can these people be like this? It’s because these people have EXTREME self confidence. They know they’re going to have fun no MATTER what they are doing. They make everything FUN. I mean, come on, isn’t that what life’s about anyway?
Hope you enjoy this!
Cheers!

Sweet post Ryan. I have very much the same feelings you have. I remember growing up there where some kids that I just couldn’t stand because they just thought so much more highly of themselves. They made me sick and I didn’t like them.
But I started asking myself what’s the difference between confidence and arrogance.
I think the difference is that confidence simply comes from knowing the gifts and talents you have and using them to ‘help others’. Where being arrogant is thinking your better and demanding it.
It’s all about service to others.
Great post.

Hey Ryan!
Thanks for sharing this great information! Unfortunately self-confidence is something that so many people don’t have. They may think they do, but put a challenge in front of them that if they overcome it, they can have the life of their dreams… many people still won’t try to overcome it because they don’t THINK THEY CAN.
Definitely true, whether you think you can or you can’t, your right.
Thanks for sharing and uplifting everyone with your post.
Keep Rockin Ryan!
