FTC(Federal Trade Commission) Imposes New Rules For Online Marketers

Ladies And Gentlemen.
The Federal Trade Commission has imposed new rules that targets the online marketers. This new rule goes into effect on December 1, 2009.
This new law specifically targets people who have blogs and promote affiliate products. The government seems to think that by only promoting the BENEFITS of these products, you are somehow deceiving the people who watch it.
For example, if you were an affiliate for a fat burning product you would make a video/blog post/tweet/etc...about the benefits of the product. You would include your affiliate link and if the person decided to buy this product, you get PAID!
Now, the FTC wants to smack us around and considers that DECEPTIVE advertising. This new rule would make you state UP FRONT that you will be making a commission off the product (which ruins the entire point of it).
This new rule is absolutely ridiculous! If they are going to do this for online marketers, then why isn't is enforced in business to business selling or personal selling,etc...?
This is an attempt for the government to take control of the internet (which is suppose to be free). The United States is suppose to be the land of the opportunity. This will CRUSH the business in the United States.
The FTC will impose fines on those who do not comply with these regulations. I propose a solution to sign this petition. Get as many people as you know to sign it! We don't have much time to get this out!

This is already passed and has been in effect since December. I actually take an opposite stance on it. While it makes certain marketing tactics tricky it forces marketers to be above board. It forces us to take a stance of being PROUD to recommend our/your products. When we take the stance of being proud to recommend things, we further the trust. I’ve wrote on this fairly extensively and the best moves we can make is to model the big boys such as Eban Pagan in their/his communications. I for one am PROUD to be in internet marketing and recommending products. We’ve entered the recommendation age, lets leverage it!
