Do You Have A Simple Life?
Get out a pen and paper and take some notes. Today’s subject is about having a simple life. It’s very easy to get caught up doing too many things. Everything from different business opportunities, jobs, relationships, literally everything in life. We ALL get so busy being BUSY that we forget to enjoy life.
I’m gonna get a little personal here with ya. I have been working on SO many things the past few months that I have failed to focus on ONE thing at a time. You need to START something and then finish it. It’s nice to have all this information but you need to CLEAR your head. I am on a journey and I want to challenge you do this as well and tell me it doesn’t MAKE everything that much better.
Watch this video to see exactly what my challenge to you is…
First, you need to write down everything that you are doing on a daily basis in your life. Take out that pen and paper that I told you about and WRITE it down. Everything includes meetings, companies you work with, relationships with people, your daily tasks, literally EVERYTHING you can imagine. Don’t worry about organization at the moment as that will come later on. You’re going to be surprised when you can SEE all that you do.
Second, start organizing this list. Start putting things into perspective. Have your big tasks that you do divided into smaller sub sections. When you are organizing the list, you are going to find MORE things that you do within the big tasks. Go ahead and write those down too. The point of this exercise to map your CURRENT life out right now. Keep in mind, this is not the “goal” worksheet, this is things you are doing today!
Third, I want you to make a priority list of all these sections. Decide what is the MOST important to you. Decide what you MUST do to survive. Do not think IRRATIONALLY when you are doing this.
Fourth, I want to put yourself in your shoes a year from now. Think of all the DAILY activities you WANT to be doing a year from now. Write down, on another piece of paper, all the daily activities you will be doing a year from now. Prioritize these activities as well and see what matters the most to you a year from now.
Fifth, you will need to formulate a plan to GET to where you are replacing activity A from your NOW daily list to activity A on your FUTURE daily list. Think of it like a puzzle. Here’s an example of just one activity. Your NOW list is “Work at job from 7-5″ and your future list says “Work from 9-3 with a distinct plan of working for 90 minutes then having a complete break from work for 30 minutes.” These two activities are similar but I want you to notice how detailed my future list is. The reason for that is you need to be more FOCUSED on what you are doing in your future daily activities.
Sixth, let’s go and devise a plan to get from point A to point B. How do you think we are going to do that? First of all, do you think your going to be able to work like I described in the future activity at a job? NO, you MUST start to create different income streams to be able to work like a real entrepreneur. It takes time, effort, persistence, and self motivation to be able to do all of these things.
Now, here’s where most people go wrong. They think, we’ll I’m already trying to do that. Here’s an example story, ” I joined company A, that didn’t work out. Then, I joined company B, well, that went sour too. “ When I hear someone say that it sounds like jibberish to me. Now don’t get me wrong, I truly believe in network marketing. BUT, here’s a fact. The REALLY successful people in the industry focus on ONE thing. Guess what that one thing is?
IMPROVING THEMSELVES
Focus on YOU. Focus on how you can improve other people’s lives. Focus on how you can develop yourself more as a person. Focus on how to become a leader. Focus on being able to enrich other people’s lives by sharing with others your experiences and what you learn. The BEST way to start improving yourself is to READ. Reading is essential for life. Now, don’t go out and read all those drama crap books that most people do read. You need to read books that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
The most sold, yet unread book in the world is the Bible. The Bible is the instruction manual for life. Every situation you encounter, it has been touched on somewhere in the Bible. I’m not a religious nut, but I do know one thing, the Bible is the most inspirational text to ever be written. Even if you don’t believe in God, read the Bible. It has some of the most inspiring stories ever.
Recall the story of David and Goliath. A Philistine giant (Goliath) measuring over nine feet tall and wearing full armor came out each day for forty days, mocking and challenging the Israelites (David) to fight. When King Saul allowed David to fight Goliath, ” David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.’” (1 Samuel 17 45-47)
This story gives HOPE to all of us. Imagine defeating a 9 foot giant wearing golden armor! How victorious is that! I’ve done a lot of things in my life, but nothing comparable to that.
The point of this message is to start reading. Read inspirational books, things you LIKE to read about. Read about other successful people’s lives. See how they touched other people. Start filling your mind with nothing but positive things. Once you start to improve yourself, then you will KNOW what to do achieve your goals.
Hope you enjoyed this post! Leave me your thoughts below.

Great post Ryan,
We all can learn from these amazing tips and approach.
It is interesting in life how things that are simple are not usually easy. I always wonder, why do most people make it so hard to do simple things? Keep on ROCKIN it with this great stuff. You are a KING!
Make it a great day!
God Bless,

Great and helpful post Ryan!
Most people never achieve their goals because they fail to write them down and review them on a daily basis.
You’ve listed some great ways to do that and thank you for sharing!
Focus is the key, we can stay busy all day long doing things but we need to focus on production.
The Bible is the best book I’ve ever read and I would like to encourage everyone to read it!
Keep cranking out these great post’s
Rock on!
Wow, Ryan, things to think about there for anyone in a business, or even employed.
Bringing out David and Goliath is a very faith strengthening example of how things can go our way when serving others.
The positive examples of others such as yourself help inspire me to be better in the self development area and stay around those who can help us to do that!
I really needed this post! It’s really not knew information but I let my self get so distracted! I need to do exactly what you suggest, write it down, make a plan and reduce and then stick to it! I look forward to reading more from you!!
Ryan,
You are sooo right! We do live cluttered lives. I love the thought of writing down everything you do, organizing it and then making a plan for a year from now. With all our widgets and gadgets it is simply too easy to get distracted and lose focus. Thanks for sharing this awesome message.
Ryan,
This post comes at a good time for me. I started the year off with one goal – to do just what you talked about in your video – SIMPLIFY. Then one project led to another project, lead to another project, led to more webinars, conference calls, more courses, etc. etc. etc.
I am certain that I need to go implement this strategy you have suggested here to lay things out and re-prioritize to determine what is important for where I am going, rather than where I am. Thanks for sharing!
